Happiness and Success

Success does not guarantee happiness, says many people. Especially not a success, more does not guarantee happiness, says some of the other. Really important for us to achieve success?

achieve success Happiness and SuccessLet’s take a moment to contemplate the meaning of success. If someone wants something then he got it, so he called a success. If the person previously not want something, then suddenly get it, is also called a success? No, he is not called a success. So successful is the name for the achievement of something desired.

Now let us reflect on what it is happy. There are comfortable, there are happy, no joy, no happiness. Someone is lying on the beach. Her body feels comfortable to enjoy the wind and sound waves. Taste warm and relaxed coursing through his body, his heart was happy and serene. Is she happy? Someone else was doing sports rafting, struggling to cope with the current shocks to the right and left. Scrabble on the edge of deadly espionage. Energy depleted, the body feels very tired. Oddly heart felt cheerful and happy. Is she happy?

In contrast to the success, happiness is more difficult to assess. If success is measured by how far the achievement of a person against what he wants, then happily came up with a miraculous way. He is subjective, he felt. Thus he is hard to measure, except by the experience.

Someone who is happy to say success, if that happy feeling that was what he wanted, and then he grabbed it. Other people can also be successful, but not happy, because it is not happy that her dreams. Maybe he covet wealth, and seize it. Maybe crave fame, and also to seize it. That is why there is expression, success happiness. So successful was the status of achievement, while happy is one of the objects that can become a destination.

If happiness is the object, then the question is: what kind of feeling happy? There are many proposals on this subject, ranging from physical characterized as the emergence of certain substances in the brain, until the very philosophical, such as the emergence of feeling loved by God. Let us take the example of one definition, namely the characteristics proposed by Rick Foster in the book How We Choose to be Happy.

True Happiness is a feeling of strong and lasting sense of calm, happy, capable, and full control over yourself. Happy also means knowing the condition and the desire itself, more to respond to real needs rather than the demands of others, consciously feel alive today, and be able to enjoy the fruits of life.

Rick Foster’s selection criteria are proved to be a characteristic emotional and mental. Referring to the criteria were quite clear that we can achieve happiness through success in a way always to set goals that can cause such happiness. Thus, when goals are reached, then reached too happy. In addition, because happiness is subjective, then we can even create a sense of happiness all the way to success.
